Turn your VMS Annual Meeting resolutions into Advocacy
March 29, 2018 VMS is doing something completely different and we need your help! Come to Montpelier and take part in a great opportunity to meet with your lawmakers.
You have the power to make a difference with your voice. Come share your real-world experience delivering healthcare in Vermont with the legislators making decisions that impact our practices and our patients. Take part in formal and informal discussions, where you can advocate for policies related to the 2018 VMS resolutions and other significant healthcare policy priorities, including but not limited to:
- Getting a clinician on the Green Mountain Care Board
- DVHA enrollment and recoupment practices
- Universal primary care
- Proposed budget cuts to primary care
- Scope-of-practice requirements
- Gun control
We have a big day planned: From 9:30am-1:30pm VMS Education & Research Foundation (VMSERF) presents this advocacy training, "Leadership: Influence, Power & Politics" at the Vermont Realtors Conference Room at 148 State St., Montpelier, VT. As a physician leader, learn effective communication methods to advocate and provide leadership both within and outside your organizations. Lunch will be served and you will earn 4.0 CME credits.
From 2:00pm-3:30pm VMS Members Share Leadership Skills at Statehouse Cafeteria and Committee Rooms. We will take the opportunity to use our newly honed leadership skills and meet with key lawmakers, testify in strategic committees and share VMS priorities.
From 4:00pm-5:30pm VMS Legislative Reception, at Cedar Creek Room in Statehouse at 115 State St., Montpelier, VT. We will share healthy refreshments with lawmakers and colleagues at the VMS Legislative Reception for the "Face of Healthcare in Vermont" discussion. Speakers TBD.
Come for all or part of the day and use your voice to show the face of VMS across the state. Click here to register
